#MaphieTravels: Daranak Falls

Looking back at 2015, I realized that I had quite a number of mini-adventures, especially local entries to #MaphieTravels that I have yet to share. Me and Martin try to make it a point to go on an adventure/out-of-town at least once every month just to keep us sane with our busy schedules. As much as possible, we prefer nearby places just to spend a day away. After seeing social media posts on our feed and stalking blogs about Daranak Falls, we were finally convinced to explore it!

Daranak Falls is located at Tanay, Rizal, and is around 1-1.5 hrs away (depending on the traffic) from Manila. We travelled by car and just used Waze to navigate. Thankfully, we didn’t get lost! Entrance fee was cheap, only P50 — you get what you pay for though.

I hate-slash-refuse to hike. Mostly because I think I am not physically capable and I maxed out my hiking activities during my first years of college where I think I might have died a thousand times (hello #buwisbuhay field trips). So I made sure that this particular falls didn’t entail any major hiking activity - thank god there was none of it! Just a hanging bridge to cross - I can do that. Lol.

Unfortunately, the place was quite packed because it was a weekend. So if ever you plan on going, better to book it on a weekday.

The water was relatively clean and clear but the falls was smaller than expected.

It was still relaxing though — all-natural water massage!

DCIM100GOPROApart from the falls, there were also other water areas to explore.
